First Year Creative Writing Competition
Many thanks to all who participated in the 'First Year Creative Writing Competition 2008'. Students had to write a poem, short story or an essay on any one of the topics 'Poverty', 'Hunger in Africa', 'Times of Change' and 'Global Warming'.
The standard of writing was very high and the number of entries was encouragingly high. Special congratulations are due to the following:
Fionn Maguire (1A), who won first prize with his short story 'Poverty',
Conor Hickey (1C), who finished second with his poem 'Rainforest',
William Dunleavy (1B) and Simon Hennessy (1B) who shared third place with their poems 'Times of Change' , and 'Poverty'.
