Young Scientists' Successes

All three Gonzaga projects in this year's BT Young Scientist of the Year competition won awards.
Patrick O’Doherty won First Prize in the Intermediate Technology section for his project 'Automatic Energy Saving'.
Ben McRedmond was Highly Commended in the same category for his project 'Cirrus - A New Language for the Web'.
In the same Intermediate Technology Category Jack Hutchinson, Peter Gillen and Marc Lincoln were Highly Commended for their project 'A Food Stock Renewal System for your House'.
Patrick also won the overall Science Foundation Ireland Award for the project that most advances research in the areas of science and/or engineering supporting sustainable energy and energy efficient technologies.
All of the Gonzaga entrants are students in Transition Year.
Congratulations to Mr. Joe O Briain who supervised and coordinated their efforts.
